Greetings Thorklest Auflangar, Wind Lord of Galentor
With your permission I shall dispense with the usual formalities and proceed to the matter at hand. With this message, the courier will also bear a copy of the child's fairy tale that you requested so urgently. It is quite a familiar story, as far as I can tell, amongst those in the northern Lunar territories that border the kindgom of Sartar and recounts a version of the origin of the Red Goddess. Do not let the fact that it is a child's tale deceive you however. There is something quite revealing about the nature of Lunar morality in the symmetry of the tale. I shall let you discover what exactly I mean by this, but I offer two large hints. Firstly, note the story's moral. Then compare this to Liana's reaction to the moon elves' declaration of love when she leaves the Red Moon. If you come to the right conclusion you will then understand something about the fundamental dualism inherent in all Lunar philosophy.
I therefore restate the claim I made in Galentor when last we met: a way must be found to show that the Code of Heort is better than this so that the Law of the High King may truly prevail against the Red Goddess. I also draw your attention to the peculiar absence of any mention of the cult of the Seven Mothers. This is odd as it is normally through this vehicle that converts are brought into the Lunar fold by their missionaries, apparently a use that this story is put to. Also, as you are no doubt aware, the Seven Mothers religion is the more accepted origin of the Lunar diety. I request your comments on this with the return of this courier.
Your obedient servant,
Eothalward Wanderheart
Lawspeaker of the Grey Lord.
